Johnny Depp said he had a man crush on Keith Richards. He had a fine chance to meet Keith Richards in person as the musician acted in the latest 'Pirates of the Caribbean' movie - 'At World's End' to be released by Walt Disney Pictures on May 25.
For his brilliant performance in the first 'Pirates' movie Johnny Depp received an Oscar nomination. The actor said he got inspiration for loopy yet irresistibly charming pirate king Jack Sparrow from Keith Richards. He just based his character on Keith and was really excited when the Rolling Stones guitarist agreed to play Captain Teague, Jack's father.
In his recent interview to Rolling Stone magazine, Johnny Depp confided that Keith Richards was one of the people he greatly admired and called the god of modern rock'n'roll and the one who invented charisma. The Hollywood actor said that Keith's talent just blew him away. He also praised the Rolling Stones legend as a great actor.

Johnny admitted that the anticipation of meeting the guitarist in person just made him mad and when Keith Richards finally arrived he reminded a real gunslinger. The musician immediately charmed all the ladies and impressed all the men.
Keith Richards himself, at the age of 63, enjoyed acting in the movie. In an interview, he said that people's appreciation was pushing him forward. The guitarist mentioned that among 'loads of wannabes' Johnny Depp and Mick Jagger have been the most successful at impersonating him. All the others just posed with a guitar but they did not move right, did not play or look right.
Richards watched the first two 'Pirates' movies together with his grandkids. The 'Pirates of the Caribbean' movies are listed among the most successful film franchises ever. The second part of the movie took more than $1 billion around the world. 'At World's End' has become one of the most expensive Hollywood movies, having costed its creators about $300 million.
