As some sources state, George W. Bush's recent communication with Albanians during his official visit to the country cost him his wrist watch. An Albanian TV showed the moment when it was evident that while embarrassing and shaking hands with people in Fushe Kruje village, 15 miles north of Tirana the American president lost his wrist watch.
If at the beginning of communication the watch was on the president's hand, several seconds later it apparently disappeared. Probably somebody from the crowd managed to slip it off? Or may be it just fell off? However Bush himself was certainly happy by the Albanians attention and warm greetings, he did not notice the missing thing and returned to his car. But some time later George Bush appeared with the watch on his wrist again.
The president's visit to Fushe Kruje was not planned. George Bush went to the village after the official negotiations in Tirana, Albania. He communicated with craftsmen who have started their business with the USA support, then drank coffee in a bar, visited a local baker's and went to talk to people.
An official from the USA embassy in Albania refuted the information that George Bush's watch was stolen. One of the president's bodyguards from Albania told he saw his American colleague picking up the president's watch from the ground.
It is known that George Bush prefers wearing modest watches of a famous American brand Timex and namely Indiglo model that costs about 50 dollars. In order to have the watch returned in case of its occasional loss, there is a personal engraving on the reverse side of the watch: George W. Bush President January 20, 2001.
